Azerbaijan records nearly $300 million in foreign remittances in 3 months
The amount of money transfers of individuals from foreign countries to Azerbaijan totalled $294 million in the first quarter of this year.
Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Samir Nasirov made the remarks at a briefing on June 12, Caliber.Az reports.
"The volume of remittances from foreign countries for the first quarter totalled $294 million. In the structure of countries, the amount of remittances from Russia totalled $155 million, Türkiye - $39 million, US - $14 million, Georgia - $9 million, UK - $8 million," Nasirov said.
He also noted that the amount of transfers from Azerbaijan to foreign countries for the same period totalled $131 million.
Most of all remittances were made to Türkiye - $38.6 million, Russia - $16.2 million, Georgia - $14.6 million, the US - $14 million and the UK - $6.8 million.
