Azerbaijan, Russia's Astrakhan should boost trade turnover, says official

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Economy Minister Sahib Alakbarov has said that it is necessary to combine efforts to increase trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia’s Astrakhan region.

"In 2022, trade turnover between us has more than quadrupled. This is not quite in line with our potential, but if we maintain efforts to increase trade exchange, we can achieve the desired results and succeed," Report quotes him as saying.

Alakbarov stressed that very serious proposals were put forward during today's discussions to promote tourism cooperation.

"We have every opportunity to implement them. Also, we can also achieve good results in the field of logistics," he added.

The official also noted the huge role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in expanding and developing economic cooperation between the regions of Russia and Azerbaijan.
