Azerbaijan’s ADY Container initiates cooperation with Maersk, Cosco
Azerbaijani railway company ADY Container has initiated collaboration with the world’s largest shipping companies, Maersk and Cosco.
In the collaboration between Maersk and ADY Container, the first joint venture involves transporting containers loaded from Spain to Kazakhstan’s Aktau port, Caliber.Az reports, citing the company's press service.
The containers, loaded with fish feed, will be brought to Georgia’s Poti port by Maersk. Here, the containers will be loaded onto platforms and delivered to Baku port via railway under the operation of “ADY Container.” Subsequently, the containers will be transported from Baku port to Aktau port by sea.
In partnership with Cosco, a container train departing from Kazakhstan will enter Azerbaijan through the Yalama station by rail. From here, the containers, loaded with metallurgical industry products, will be delivered to Georgia’s Poti port.
The next phase involves shipping the containers to Italy. ADY Container serves as the operator for transportation within the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Collaboration with Maersk and Cosco is expected to contribute to the increase in the volume of transit cargo passing through Azerbaijan’s territory and attract additional cargo to routes crossing Azerbaijan.
