Azerbaijan’s aluminium production, exports show modest growth in Q1 2025
Azerbaijan's aluminium production in the first quarter of 2025 saw a notable increase, with a 5.8 per cent rise in output compared to the same period last year.
The country produced a total of 15,5 tons of aluminium products from January to March 2025, Caliber.Az reports via the State Statistics Committee.
As of April 1, 2025, there were 3,2 tons of finished aluminium products held in storage, the committee reported.
In terms of exports, Azerbaijan shipped 18,8 tons of aluminium and aluminium products during the first quarter of 2025. While this figure represents a slight decline of 0.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2024, the value of these exports increased by 10.2 per cent, reaching a total of $53,1 million.
The share of aluminium exports in Azerbaijan’s total export volume remained relatively stable, rising marginally from 0.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2024 to 0.83 per cent in 2025, as reported by the State Customs Committee.
Despite a slight dip in the total volume of exports, the growth in value underscores the higher market prices or demand for aluminium products, which continues to play an important role in Azerbaijan's industrial and export sectors.
