Brazil's state energy giant Petrobras has expressed satisfaction with its ongoing maritime partnership with Azerbaijan’s Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), as the two sides explore expanded collaboration in offshore logistics and vessel chartering.
In a meeting held in Rio de Janeiro, Petrobras engaged with its international shipping partners, including ASCO, which operates under AZCON Holding, Caliber.Az reports.
Representing ASCO were Zaur Naghiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board, and Chingiz Safarov, Head of the Marine Transport Fleet, according to Mehman Mehdiyev, Head of ASCO’s Press Service.
The discussions covered a broad spectrum of topics, including Petrobras' operational requirements for chartered vessels, evolving compliance standards in global shipping, and strategies for mitigating maritime sector risks. Petrobras officials also outlined their growing need for reliable maritime transport solutions, particularly for offshore operations and logistical support.
A key highlight of the dialogue was the ongoing long-term charter agreement involving an Aframax-type tanker owned by ASCO, currently deployed in Petrobras operations. Both parties expressed their mutual satisfaction with the performance and reliability of the arrangement.
Petrobras further signaled strong interest in broadening the scope of cooperation, with potential plans to lease additional ASCO vessels.
