Azerbaijan's ASCO, World Bank team up on Caspian renewable energy plans PHOTO
Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO) and the World Bank have discussed cooperation opportunities related to shipping and logistics support for offshore wind energy projects in the Caspian Sea.
The discussions were held during a meeting between company representatives and an expert delegation from the World Bank. A representative of Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources also attended the meeting, Caliber.Az reports, citing ASCO.
The sides examined the potential demand for specialized maritime services that could emerge as offshore wind energy projects move forward in the Caspian Sea.
Participants reviewed ASCO’s specialized fleet capabilities, including the types of vessels that could be deployed during various phases of offshore wind projects, as well as logistical requirements for construction, installation, and other marine operations.
The meeting focused on assessing the role of maritime infrastructure and transport capacity in supporting the development of Azerbaijan’s offshore renewable energy sector.
