Azerbaijan’s car production plunges nearly 30% in 2025
Azerbaijan’s automotive industry experienced a significant downturn in the first nine months of 2025, with passenger car production falling sharply.
According to the State Statistics Committee, cited by Caliber.Az, the country produced 2,546 passenger cars between January and September — a drop of 29.7%, or 1,077 units, compared to the same period in 2024.
Tractor production also declined by 15% to 392 units, while truck output fell by 30.7% to 273 units over the same period. Enterprise warehouses, as of October 1, 2025, held 30 cars, six tractors, and 43 trucks.
Overall, total production in the machinery, equipment, motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers sector reached 450.4 million manats ($265 million) during January–September 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, production of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers fell by 24.9%.
