Azerbaijan’s central bank explores payments innovation with Mastercard PHOTO

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has held discussions with Mastercard on strengthening cooperation in the payments sector and advancing digital financial services in the country.

Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Taleh Kazimov, met a delegation led by Craig Vosburg, Chief Services Officer at Mastercard, according to a statement on X.

The talks focused on the current state of collaboration between the two sides, alongside longer-term opportunities for developing Azerbaijan’s payment infrastructure. Officials also reviewed the Central Bank’s strategic priorities in modernising the national payments ecosystem.

Both sides exchanged views on expanding digital financial services, introducing innovative payment solutions, and improving the efficiency and security of transaction systems.
