Azerbaijan’s commerce with Kazakhstan hits record high, Türkiye trade slides

Trade between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan has seen significant growth in the first seven months of 2025, surpassing the half-billion-dollar mark.

The State Customs Committee told Caliber.Az that the total volume of mutual trade between the two countries reached $517.16 million, representing a 3.8-fold increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Azerbaijani exports to Kazakhstan rose 1.5 times, totalling $60.04 million and accounting for 0.39% of Azerbaijan’s total exports (up from 0.24% in January-July 2024).

Imports from Kazakhstan surged even more dramatically, increasing 4.7 times to $457.12 million, making up 3.36% of Azerbaijan’s total imports (up from 0.9% in the same period last year).

In contrast, trade between Azerbaijan and Türkiye experienced a modest decrease. For January-July 2025, the total bilateral trade volume amounted to $3.384 billion, which is 6.5% lower than in the same period of 2024.

Azerbaijani exports to Türkiye fell by 13.7%, reaching $2.009 billion, with their share of Azerbaijan’s total exports declining from 14.47% to 13.19%. Meanwhile, imports from Türkiye increased by 6.5%, totalling $1.375 billion and representing 10.1% of Azerbaijan’s total imports (down from 11.96% in 2024).
