Azerbaijan's economy minister seals energy deal in Israel, strengthening SOCAR’s international presence Photo
The Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, alongside the President of SOCAR, attended a ceremony in Israel where new licenses for the exploration of Block 1 in the country's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) were presented.
Minister Jabbarov shared details of the event on his X page, expressing the importance of the partnership in the development of energy resources in the region, Caliber.Az reports.
“During our working visit to Israel, alongside Rovshan Najaf, the President of SOCAR , we attended the presentation ceremony of exploration licenses for Block "I" in Israel's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ),” he said.
According to him, these licenses "offer strategic advantages in strengthening SOCAR's international position and leveraging innovative experiences."
Furthermore, recent high-level engagements, including the meeting between Azerbaijan's Presidential Aide Hikmet Hajiyev and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reflect growing collaboration between the two countries.
During their talks, Hajiyev delivered a message from President Ilham Aliyev, and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral ties.
The discussion covered key areas of cooperation and regional developments, underscoring the importance of Azerbaijan-Israel relations in the changing geopolitical landscape.
