Azerbaijan’s electric vehicle imports halve in January-July

Azerbaijan imported 41,105 vehicles in January-July 2026, down 35.2% from the same period in 2025.

The total value of vehicles imported into the country amounted to $807.429 million, marking a 31% decline year on year, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee

According to the data, the largest share of imports consisted of passenger cars and other motor vehicles designed to carry passengers, with 36,169 units imported, down 1.6-fold. Their total value amounted to $660.018 million, also a 1.6-fold decrease.

Of these passenger vehicles, Azerbaijan imported 12,521 hybrid cars during the reporting period, down 2.4-fold, with a total value of $273.778 million, down 2.2-fold.

Meanwhile, the number of electric vehicles imported during the period stood at 596, a 50% decline, with their total value amounting to $15.475 million, down 2.5-fold.

As previously reported, Azerbaijan imported 123,319 vehicles in 2025, up 34.3% year on year, with a total value of $2.387 billion, representing a 29.4% increase.
