Azerbaijan’s Finance Ministry receives instructions on budget package preparation
On April 14, under the chairmanship of Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, a meeting of the Economic Council was held, during which the Ministry of Finance and other relevant institutions were instructed on the preparation of the next year’s budget package and the Medium-Term Budget Framework (MTBF) document
During the session, MTBF for 2027–2030 was reviewed, along with the main directions and objectives of budget policy, expenditure priorities, preliminary macroeconomic forecasts, macro-fiscal parameters for the medium-term period, and issues related to fiscal sustainability, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Cabinet of Ministers.
Discussions also covered projected indicators for the state and consolidated budgets for 2027 and the following three years, as well as parameters of social policy and other ongoing economic matters.
Reports were presented by Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Anar Aliyev, and Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
Members of the Economic Council, as well as invited participants, delivered remarks on the agenda items.
Following the meeting, relevant decisions were adopted, taking into account the views and proposals of Council members.
