Azerbaijan’s PM promotes Karabakh opportunities in talks with ADB president PHOTO
Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has presented Karabakh’s investment potential during his meeting with Asian Development Bank President Masato Kanda.
The meeting highlighted the long-standing and fruitful partnership between Azerbaijan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Caliber.Az reports, citing the Cabinet of Ministers.
The sides noted that over the past period, the bank has supported the development of various sectors of Azerbaijan’s economy. Satisfaction was expressed with the successful implementation of joint projects in transport, water supply, energy, finance, education, healthcare and other areas.
It was also noted that Azerbaijan participates in ADB’s initiative to assist least-developed countries and contributes to the bank’s Asian Development Fund.
The discussion touched upon the favourable investment and business environment created in Azerbaijan, with detailed information presented on programmes for the reconstruction and economic revitalisation of the territories liberated from occupation, as well as on the investment potential of these areas.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for cooperation in priority areas under the Azerbaijan–ADB Country Partnership Strategy for 2025–2029, approved in July of this year, including expanding the metro network, improving railway infrastructure and water supply systems, and advancing a number of other promising bilateral projects.
