Azerbaijan's salaried workforce soars to 1.78 million in 2025 with 2.1% Surge
As of January 1, 2025, the number of salaried employees in Azerbaijan reached 1.78 million, marking a 2.1% increase or 36,700 more people compared to 2023, according to data from the State Statistical Committee.
Of the total number of employees, 882,800 were working in the public sector, representing a 1.8% decline, while 895,700 were employed in the private sector, reflecting a growth of 6.3%, Caliber.Az reports.
The report also highlights that in 2024, 18.5% of workers were employed in trade and vehicle repairs, another 18.5% in education, 13.5% in industry, 8.5% in healthcare and social services, 6.6% in construction, and 6.3% in public administration, defence, and social security.
Additionally, 4.3% were engaged in transport and warehousing, 3.8% in professional, scientific, and technical activities, 2.7% in agriculture, forestry, and fishing, 2.2% in financial and insurance activities, and 15.1% in other sectors.
