Azerbaijan’s SOCAR, ADB strengthen ties in push for green energy future PHOTO
SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf held discussions with Sunnia Durrani-Jamal, the Director of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Azerbaijan representation, to explore potential areas of cooperation between the two entities.
The meeting, focused on opportunities for collaboration, including joint projects aimed at ensuring sustainable development in the energy sector and expanding the use of renewable energy sources, Caliber.Az reports referring to SOCAR.
During the talks, SOCAR presented its ambitious decarbonization goals and ongoing projects aligned with sustainable development targets.
"We are committed to contributing to the global efforts in decarbonization," said Najaf. "Our projects are designed not only to address the needs of the energy sector, but also to ensure long-term sustainability for the future."
The two sides exchanged views on the development of renewable energy projects and deepening partnerships in carbon emission reduction efforts.
"The exchange of experiences in the renewable energy sector is key to achieving sustainability in energy systems," stated Durrani-Jamal. "We look forward to strengthening our cooperation with SOCAR to support Azerbaijan’s transition to a greener, more sustainable energy future."
The meeting highlighted shared goals of expanding green energy initiatives and creating pathways for sustainable development in the region. Both parties agreed to continue exploring avenues for mutual collaboration in these critical areas.
