Azerbaijan’s think tank highlights stronger decision-making within SCO
Azerbaijan’s AIR Centre think tank has stated that improving decision-making mechanisms is important in the context of the ongoing expansion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
Chairman of the centre Farid Shafiyev, taking part in the Forum of Think Tanks of the SCO held in China, underlined Azerbaijan’s increasing role as a key strategic transport and trade hub linking Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Europe, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Farid Shafiyev delivered a speech during a session titled Prospects for SCO Development.
On the second day of the forum, the AIR Centre and Shanghai University of Political Science and Law co-hosted an event titled China and the South Caucasus: Joint Revival of the Silk Road.
Participants discussed the growing importance of the South Caucasus in strengthening transport and trade connectivity across Eurasia.
