The Azerbaijan Tourism Board provided representatives of the Chinese tourism industry with detailed information on attractive destinations and the existing infrastructure available to curious travellers to visit the South Caucasian country during an industry event in Changzhou.
The Azerbaijani delegation participated in the “2026 Jiangsu Forum on the Silver Tourism Market” held in the Chinese province of Jiangsu on September 22, Caliber.Az reports, referring to the State Tourism Agency.
The presentation highlighted various facets of Azerbaijan, ranging from its cultural heritage, gastronomy, to the multiple branches of tourism that are dynamically evolving in the country, such as nature tourism and wellness tourism.
Particular attention was paid to destinations and experiences that could appeal to older Chinese travellers, who are considered an attractive target audience. Among the attractive sights presented were Baku’s historical and modern architecture, the Silk Road heritage that is incorporated across the whole country, as well as the traditional crafts that are still being practiced in cities like Sheki, and the wellness tourism opportunities available in the city of Naftalan.

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board also provided information on the visa-free scheme between China and Azerbaijan as part of its presentation of the country’s tourism potential.
The Changzhou event also provided an opportunity to establish contacts with tourism companies operating in eastern and southern China.
During the meetings, representatives discussed ways to expand cooperation between the two sides, as well as the travel preferences of elderly Chinese tourists.
