Azerbaijan’s trade with China exceeds $1.1 billion in Q1
Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with China rose in the first quarter of 2026, driven by a notable increase in exports, according to data released by the State Customs Committee.
The total volume of bilateral trade between Azerbaijan and China in January–March 2026 reached $1 billion 103 million 631.07 thousand, marking a 7.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025, Caliber.Az reported, citing the committee’s figures.
Exports of Azerbaijani products to China recorded significant growth during the period, rising by 25.2% to $29 million 59.11 thousand. As a result, the share of exports in total trade turnover increased to 0.54%, up from 0.36% in January–March 2025.
Imports from China also continued to grow, albeit at a more moderate pace. The volume of imports rose by 6.9%, reaching $1 billion 74 million 571.96 thousand. Imports accounted for 26.83% of Azerbaijan’s total trade, compared to 17.75% in the corresponding period of 2025.
