Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia discuss situation in oil market PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia have discussed the Kingdom's participation in COP29 events, as well as the steps taken by the Joint Technical Committee between the two countries' energy ministries.
The discussions were held during a meeting between Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry.
The meeting also addressed the current state of the global oil market, commitments under OPEC+, and the energy partnership between the two countries. During his visit to Brazil, Shahbazov held meetings with Brazil's Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandre Silveira and Executive Director of the Global Renewables Alliance Bruce Douglas.
These discussions focused on strengthening intergovernmental ties through platforms like COP and G20, the roles of Azerbaijan and Brazil in the energy transition, collaborative efforts among the COP trio (Azerbaijan, UAE, and Brazil) in fulfilling new commitments, and Azerbaijan’s projects in offshore wind energy and green energy supply.
The participation of the Global Renewables Alliance and the private companies in these initiatives was also emphasised.
