Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Tajikistan discuss prospects for tourism development
Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency Fuad Naghiyev has met with the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Tajikistan to Azerbaijan.
The meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Azerbaijan Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili focused on the increase in the number of mutual tourist visits, expansion of tourism ties and prospects for cooperation between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports.
Naghiyev noted that a number of marketing events will be organized in Saudi Arabia in 2024. The Ambassador, in turn, noted that citizens of his country consider Azerbaijan one of the most interesting destinations for long-term tourist trips. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the visa facilitation procedure for Azerbaijani citizens.
The state agency chief also met with the newly appointed Jordanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Omar Barakat Al Nahar. The sides discussed the opening of direct flights between Jordan and Azerbaijan.
At the meeting with Tajik Ambassador Ilhom Abdurahmon, the two exchanged views on increasing the number of flights and developing cooperation in the tourism sector. It was proposed to develop a roadmap for strengthening tourism ties.
