Azerbaijan sees double growth in number of incoming tourists in 2022
Over 1,3 million people from 176 countries arrived in Azerbaijan in January-October 2022.
This is 2.2 times more foreigners and stateless persons than in the same period of 2021, Report informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee.
According to the report, 27.4 per cent came from Russia, 19.4 per cent Türkiye, 10.8 per cent Iran, 6.8 per cent Saudi Arabia, 4.8 per cent Georgia, 3.4 per cent India, 3.3 per cent - Pakistan, 2.2 per cent - UAE, 1.9 per cent - Kazakhstan, 1.8 per cent - Ukraine, 1.7 per cent - Israel, 1.6 per cent - Uzbekistan, 1.5 per cent - Kuwait, 1.3 per cent - Oman, 1.1 per cent - Belarus, 11 per cent - other countries. Men accounted for 74.6 per cent, women - 25.4 per cent of arrivals.
Over the past year, the number of arrivals from the Persian Gulf countries increased by 2.7 times and amounted to 307,500 people, from the member countries of the European Union - by 2.3 times to 62,600 people, from the CIS countries - by 2 times up to 462,900 people.
