Azerbaijan sees surge in cotton output, yarn exports, state committee says
Azerbaijan has reported significant growth in cotton production and exports for the period from January to November 2025, the State Statistics Committee said.
During this period, the country produced 76,9 tons of raw cotton, reflecting a 33.8% increase compared to the same timeframe last year. 28,4 tons of finished cotton products were held in warehouses by December 1, 2025, Caliber.Az reports.
In addition, 19,8 tons of cotton yarn were produced, marking a 22.9% rise year-on-year, with 5,3 tons of finished yarn in stock as of December 1.
Export data from the State Customs Committee shows that Azerbaijan shipped 105,9 tons of cotton fiber during the first eleven months of 2025, representing a 7% decrease in volume and generating $151.1 million, down 11.1% compared to the previous year. The share of cotton fiber exports in total national exports stood at 0.65%, slightly lower than 0.7% recorded during the same period in 2024.
Conversely, the export of cotton yarn showed robust growth, with 13,4 tons shipped, an increase of 23.4%, yielding $30.58 million, up 13.3% year-on-year.
