Azerbaijan seizes about 905 kg of drugs in Jan - Oct 2022
The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee officers seized about 905 kg of narcotics, psychotropic substances and their precursors from illegal turnover in the first ten months of 2022.
As a result of the Customs Committee's activity (including in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies), 64 cases of illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors in the amount of 904.611 kg were revealed in the reporting period, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Committee.
Thus, heroin and methamphetamine, the most dangerous drugs (458.297 kg of heroin and 379.494 kg of methamphetamine), made up 92.6 per cent. Furthermore, 57.103 kg of opium, 5.98 kg of hashish, over 2.653 kg of marijuana, 260.89 grammes of cocaine, 442.904 grammes of methadone, over 732 grammes of methylenedioxyamphetamine, 254.79 grammes of mephedrone, 104.3 grammes of MDMA (Ecstasy) and 97.28 grammes of amphetamine were also found and seized.
