Azerbaijan showcases commitment to climate action at Beijing conference PHOTO
The Zero Emission 2024 International Climate Conference focused on Climate Ambition and Global Action, took place in Beijing, organized by Phoenix TV.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to China, Bunyad Huseynov, attended the event as a guest of honour, the Azerbaijani Embassy in China told local media, per Caliber.Az.
In his speech, Huseynov discussed Azerbaijan's preparations for COP29 and its initiatives to promote global solidarity in combating climate change. He highlighted the development of green energy zones in the liberated territories and emphasized Azerbaijan's commitment to setting an example for other countries by prioritizing ‘green growth’ in its development strategy. The ambassador also noted that Azerbaijan has pledged to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions and has joined the Global Methane Initiative.
Furthermore, Huseynov remarked on the significance of China's extensive experience and achievements in green and alternative energy. He pointed out that Baku successfully collaborates with Beijing in this sector, with Chinese companies participating in projects to build solar power plants in the liberated territories and contribute to the development of a green economy.
