Azerbaijan simplifies visa procedures over upcoming int’l event

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has simplified visa procedures for foreigners and stateless persons wishing to come to Azerbaijan in connection with the 74th International Astronautical Congress.

Foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Azerbaijan in connection with the 74th International Astronautical Congress can obtain a visa at the international airports of Azerbaijan from September 20 to October 7, 2023, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Foreign Ministry.

The basis for issuing a visa is one of the following documents: a document confirming registration through the electronic registration system in accordance with the rules of the International Federation of Cosmonautics - the international organizer of the 74th International Congress of Astronautics; official invitation from the legal entity of public law Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the 74th International Congress of Astronautics.

The procedure for issuing a single or multiple e-visa issued through the ASAN Visa system is carried out by the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Stay in the country on a single-entry e-visa issued within 3 working days through the ASAN Visa system is established for up to 30 days, a multiple-entry e-visa - for up to 90 days.

Also, through the ASAN Visa system, regardless of non-working and holidays, foreigners and stateless persons can apply for a one-time e-visa in an expedited manner within 3 hours by visiting the website www.evisa.gov.az.

Since May 15, 2018, in cases stipulated by the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, acts of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and interstate or intergovernmental agreements of the Republic of Azerbaijan, single-entry electronic visas are issued to foreigners and stateless persons at the international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan through the ASAN Visa system.

The issuance of visas at international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan through the ASAN Visa system, as well as the implementation of visa-related payments through the ASAN pay system, are provided by the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The single-entry e-visa is only issued to citizens of the countries listed in this list below.
