Azerbaijan, Singapore strengthen tax administration ties in key talks
The State Tax Service under the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry has engaged in a productive discussion with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore regarding advanced practices in tax administration.
Head of the State Tax Service and President of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) Orkhan Nazarli held a video conference with Head and CEO of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore Ow Fook Chuen, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Tax Service.
The key focus of the meeting was on expanding bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries, with a particular emphasis on enhancing cooperation in tax administration and establishing a comprehensive legal framework.
The two leaders also delved into several critical issues surrounding modern tax practices. Discussions included exchanging views on risk management strategies in tax operations, mutual information exchange, digital tax administration, and innovative methods to combat tax fraud and evasion.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both countries to align their efforts in addressing common challenges in the tax sector. In closing, Nazarli extended a formal invitation to Ow Fook Chuen to attend the upcoming 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations, which is scheduled to take place in Baku.
