Azerbaijan, Spain may sign investment promotion deal

The governments of Azerbaijan and Spain may sign an agreement on the promotion and protection of investments.

This issue was discussed during the visit of a delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev to the capital of Spain, Madrid, Report informs citing the Ministry of Economy.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with Secretary of State for Foreign Trade of Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce Xiana Margarida Mendez Bertolo.

Having informed the state secretary of the potential of economic and trade relations between the two countries, Aliyev noted the importance of organizing business meetings with the participation of business circles to implement the existing opportunities.

The importance of preparing an agreement between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Spain on the promotion and protection of investments to increase mutual investments between the two countries and ensure legal regulation in this direction was noted.

For his part, Bertolo noted the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and shared her views on expanding the partnership.

The sides also discussed the current state of economic relations and the prospects for cooperation.
