Azerbaijan starts oil transportation from Kazakhstan's Kashagan field PHOTO

For the first time, oil from the Kazakh Kashagan field began to be transported along the Aktau-Baku route.

The oil transportation along the new route was carried out by the tanker "Academician tKhoshbakht Yusifzade" of the ASCO transport flotilla, The head of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) press service, Mehman Mehdiyev, told Caliber.Az.

The first batch of oil in the amount of 6,900 tons was loaded onto the tanker. The tanker will deliver oil from the Kazakh port of Aktau to the Azerbaijani Sangachal terminal.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan's KazTransOil joint-stock company will ship 7,000 tons of oil from the Kashagan field in transit through Azerbaijan this month.
