Azerbaijan, Tajikistan sign memorandum to enhance scientific collaboration
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and the Strategic Research Centre for under the President of Tajikistan.
The document was signed by Chairman of the ESRI Shahin Sadigov on the Azerbaijani side and First Deputy Director of the Centre Oraz Murtazozoda on the Tajik side, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The purpose of the memorandum is to establish direct research ties between the two countries to promote collaborative activities in the spheres of mutual interest.
Azerbaijan and Tajikistan interact in both bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as within the framework of international and regional organisations.
Trade and economic relations with Tajikistan are developing. From January to April 2024, trade turnover between the countries increased by 78 per cent. There are ample opportunities to increase these indicators. At the same time, there is great potential for the implementation of joint projects in the light, chemical, mining and other spheres.
