Azerbaijan targets $1 billion in ICT exports by 2030
Azerbaijan is targeting a significant expansion of its information and communication technologies (ICT) sector, with plans to increase exports from the current $145 million to $1 billion by 2030.
The announcement was made by Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, during the 10th International Finance and Banking Summit held in Baku, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“We plan to double the size of the ICT sector by 2030 compared to its current level. One of our key goals is to increase export potential from $145 million to $1 billion,” Osmanov said.
He noted that Azerbaijan’s ambitions extend beyond accelerating digital transformation within the country. According to Osmanov, the government is also focused on positioning Azerbaijan as one of the region’s leading digital and technology hubs.
