Azerbaijan to allocate 3.5 billion manats for Karabakh reconstruction in 2026
Azerbaijan plans to allocate 3.5 billion manats ($2.06 billion) for the restoration and reconstruction of territories liberated from occupation in 2026, representing 8.4% of total state budget expenditure for the year.
According to the draft law On the State Budget for 2026, the proposed amount marks a 12.5% decrease compared to the approved forecast for 2025, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Azerbaijan’s Great Return program aims to resettle approximately 140,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) by 2026. The initiative includes the reconstruction of 100 settlements with essential infrastructure, including housing, schools, hospitals, and utility networks.
Between 2020 and 2023, over $4.6 billion was allocated to the project, with total investment expected to reach $17.6 billion by 2030.
