Azerbaijan sends 22 railcars of diesel fuel to Armenia UPDATED

14 April 2026 10:43

Today, the supply of diesel fuel from Azerbaijan to Armenia and Russian fertiliser has taken place.

A train consisting of 22 wagons loaded with 1,298 tonnes of diesel fuel and 4 wagons loaded with 240 tonnes of fertiliser was dispatched from the Bilajari station of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC towards the Boyuk Kasik station, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The cargo will be delivered to Armenia via transit through Georgian territory.

The last time, on April 11, 15 tank wagons carrying 887 tonnes of diesel were sent from Azerbaijan to Armenia.

So far, 6,312 tonnes of diesel, 979 tonnes of AI-92 petrol, and 2,955 tonnes of AI-95 petrol have been exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia.

To date, more than 23,900 tonnes of grain, over 1,100 tonnes of fertiliser, and 68 tonnes of buckwheat have been sent from Russia to Armenia via transit through Azerbaijan.

Fuel exports to this country began on December 18, 2025. On that day, 1,220 tonnes of AI-95 automobile fuel were supplied to Armenia.

According to a decision by President Ilham Aliyev in October 2025, restrictions on the transit of goods from Azerbaijan to Armenia, which had been in place since the occupation period, were lifted, and shipments along this route have since continued.

Azerbaijan is set to export 22 rail tank cars of diesel fuel to Armenia on April 14, according to local media reports.

In parallel, four railcars of fertiliser will be transported from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan.

Official data indicate that since the launch of fuel supplies, Azerbaijan has exported a total of 6,312 tonnes of diesel, 979 tonnes of AI-92 petrol, and 2,955 tonnes of AI-95 petrol to Armenia.

Fuel deliveries to Armenia began on December 18, 2025, when an initial shipment of 1,220 tonnes of AI-95 petrol was dispatched. The most recent delivery prior to today’s shipment involved 887 tonnes of diesel fuel sent to the neighbouring country.

The ongoing exports follow a decision by President Ilham Aliyev in October 2025 to lift long-standing restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia, which had been in place since the period of occupation.
