Azerbaijan tops World Bank's business ready report in financial services
Azerbaijan has been ranked first in the World Bank's latest "Business Ready" report, scoring 87.2 points out of a possible 100. The country achieved the top position in the "financial services" component, surpassing 100 other nations.
This ranking is based on three key indicators: the regulatory framework, public services, and operational efficiency. Azerbaijan's regulatory framework earned 94.1 points, public services scoring 89.8 points, and operational efficiency achieving 77.5 points, Caliber.Az reports via the Central Bank.
This marks the first time Azerbaijan has been included in the report, which was published in 2024. The report, which evaluates over 100 global economies, aims to provide a quantitative assessment of the business environment, focusing on factors crucial for private sector development. It takes into account the strength of regulatory policies, the accessibility of public services for businesses, and the operational effectiveness of these services.
