Azerbaijan, TotalEnergies discuss Absheron field development

Azerbaijan and France’s TotalEnergies have discussed the full-scale development of the Absheron gas condensate field, as well as measures to reduce the carbon footprint of operations, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said.

The talks took place during a meeting between Shahbazov and Martina Oppizzi, Senior Vice President of TotalEnergies, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

According to the minister, the discussions focused on advancing the next stage of development at the Absheron field and exploring ways to make operations more environmentally sustainable.

The sides also reviewed cooperation within the framework of network strengthening efforts, including a project to build a 35-megawatt wind power plant.
