Azerbaijan Tourism Board joins European Spas Association as advisory member
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board has joined the European Spas Association (ESPA) as an advisory member during its participation in the HealthxChange Summit 2026 in Varna, Bulgaria.
The summit is taking place on May 11–13 and is considered one of Europe’s leading platforms in the wellness and spa tourism sector, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.
The event brings together representatives of government agencies, tourism organisations, as well as stakeholders from the medical and recreational industries, along with international experts.
On the sidelines of the summit, a decision was made to admit the Azerbaijan Tourism Board to the European Spas Association as an advisory member — one of the leading organisations in Europe focused on spa, wellness, and medical tourism.
Officials said the membership would contribute to expanding international cooperation, exchanging best practices, and developing new partnerships in the health and tourism sectors.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Board Teymur Suleymanzade, who participated in panel sessions and bilateral meetings, presenting the country’s potential in medical and wellness tourism to international partners.
