Azerbaijan, Tunisia discuss oil, green energy cooperation
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Tunisian Industry, Mines and Energy Minister Neila Nouira Gonji have discussed oil and green energy cooperation.
The discussion took place during a meeting between in the United Arab Emirates on January 17, Report informs, citing the Energy Ministry.
The Azerbaijani and Tunisian state oil companies, SOCAR and STIR, have been cooperating in the supply of crude oil and petroleum products for more than a decade.
The meeting also discussed an energy policy aimed at diversifying both countries' sources of energy supply and developing the renewable energy sector.
Shahbazov noted that Azerbaijan, which is a reliable exporter of oil and natural gas, also plans to become a clean energy supplier.
"To this end, we are cooperating with international energy companies on green energy projects. We continue our policy that gives priority to diversification in ensuring energy security for us and our partners," the minister added.
For his part, Gonji expressed interest in sharing experiences with Azerbaijan in the development of renewable energy sources and the energy sphere in general.
