Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss key energy cooperation projects in Kyrgyzstan
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has met with Turkish Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ahmet Berat Conkar in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to discuss the agenda for energy cooperation between the two countries.
“In Bishkek, we discussed with Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye Ahmet Berat Conkar the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Interaction Project through Nakhchivan, the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline to be commissioned by the end of the year, the next meeting of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum and other issues on our Energy Cooperation agenda,” Caliber.Az reports, citing the minister’s message on X.
Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez and Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Ankara concerning the supply of natural gas from Türkiye to Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on December 15, 2020. The new gas pipeline will start in the Turkish city of Igdir and end in the Azerbaijani settlement of Sadarak. Türkiye will construct the Igdir-Sadarak pipeline, which will be connected to the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
