Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss measures to simplify trade
The 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye is taking place in Baku, focusing on initiatives to streamline trade and boost economic collaboration.
The session is chaired by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Turkish counterpart Cevdet Yılmaz, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The meeting will discuss the $15 billion trade turnover target set by the presidents of both countries, as well as steps to be taken to simplify trade.
Türkiye has long been one of Azerbaijan's main trading partners. In 2024, Türkiye's exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $3.1 billion, while its imports from Azerbaijan reached $4.8 billion. Currently, Türkiye is the second-largest country to which Azerbaijan exports and the third-largest from which it imports.
The 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye was held in May 2024 in Ankara.
