Azerbaijan, Türkiye explore strategic textile industry cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, has met with representatives of Turkish textile company Estex İplik ve Kumaş Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş., currently on a working visit to Azerbaijan, to strengthen bilateral economic ties and boost industrial development between the two nations.

The discussions centered on exploring strategic opportunities for cooperation in textile manufacturing — a sector increasingly seen as vital to Azerbaijan’s economic diversification and export expansion, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Economy.

During the meeting, the sides highlighted the critical role that the creation of new industrial enterprises plays in accelerating national economic growth. Officials noted that investments in textile production not only enhance the industry’s global competitiveness but also contribute significantly to employment generation and the strengthening of Azerbaijan’s non-oil export potential.

The delegation from Türkiye was briefed on Azerbaijan’s favorable investment climate, underpinned by its modern production infrastructure, supportive regulatory environment, and expanding network of international trade relations. These factors, the parties agreed, make Azerbaijan an attractive destination for foreign direct investment in textile and other manufacturing sectors.
