Azerbaijan, Türkiye sign 33 billion cubic meter gas supply deal

Azerbaijan and Türkiye have signed a new agreement for the supply of 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas, Türkiye’s Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced in an interview with Kanal 7.

Bayraktar said the deal was signed two days ago and covers gas deliveries from the Absheron field in the Caspian Sea. Under the agreement, Türkiye will receive 2.25 billion cubic meters annually for 15 years.

The agreement is set to take effect in 2029 and remain in force into the 2040s. Gas will be delivered via the existing Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum pipeline.
