Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan eye expanded economic, energy partnership
Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Turkmenistan's Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov during a working visit to Turkmenistan, where the two sides discussed expanding bilateral economic and energy cooperation.
Jabbarov announced the meeting in a post on X, saying it took place on the sidelines of the 9th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission, Caliber.Az reports.

"As part of our working visit to Turkmenistan for the 9th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission, we met with Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan," Jabbarov wrote.
The Azerbaijani minister said the talks focused on strengthening bilateral economic ties and identifying new areas for cooperation.
"We emphasized the prospects for further strengthening the economic dialogue and business partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in the energy sector while advancing new areas of partnership," he said.
