Azerbaijan, UAE explore expanded agricultural trade
Officials from Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates have explored opportunities to expand bilateral trade in food products, as Mammadrahim Najafov, Head of Apparatus of the Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency has met with Mohammed Al Blooshi, the UAE Ambassador to the country.
The discussions underscored that in 2025, Azerbaijan exported a range of products to the UAE, including meat, eggs, vegetable oils, and fruit juices, Caliber.Az reports, citing the agency.
In exchange, the UAE supplied Azerbaijan with beef, poultry, butter, corn, quinoa, and other agricultural commodities.
The meeting also addressed a draft memorandum of understanding between the Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency and the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, focusing on “cooperation in animal health and food safety.” The agreement aims to strengthen regulatory collaboration and ensure high standards for food safety and animal health across both countries.
