Azerbaijan, UAE strengthen ties on climate, economy, sustainable development PHOTO / UPDATED
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, met with a delegation led by the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of Climate and Environment, Amna Al Dahak, to discuss avenues for strengthened bilateral cooperation.
The meeting highlighted the prospects for mutually beneficial collaboration between Azerbaijan and the UAE, emphasizing that their relations are grounded in a strategic partnership, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The sides praised the development of cooperation across multiple sectors, including economic and trade relations, energy and renewable energy, agriculture, food security, transport, logistics, and cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
The ministers noted the significance of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which aims to facilitate and liberalize trade and increase turnover in non-oil and gas sectors, as a key instrument in furthering economic relations between the two countries.
The meeting also underscored Azerbaijan’s favorable investment climate and the role of the Joint Investment Fund, established with the participation of both countries, in supporting projects of mutual interest. The importance of Masdar’s investments in Azerbaijan’s renewable energy sector was also highlighted.
Discussions covered joint projects promoting sustainable economic growth, implementation of efficient business solutions, and strategies for reducing carbon emissions. It was further noted that B2B meetings between Azerbaijani and UAE companies play a pivotal role in expanding business ties and enhancing mutual investment opportunities.
