Azerbaijan, Uganda explore future cooperation in energy sector Photo

Azerbaijan and Uganda have discussed prospects for future cooperation in the oil and gas sector, mining, and hydropower.

The talks took place during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Energy Kamal Abbasov and Uganda’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs John Mulimba, who is currently visiting Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.

The meeting focused on potential avenues for collaboration in the energy sector and other areas, emphasising the importance of mutual support and knowledge exchange to strengthen bilateral ties.

Mulimba was briefed on Azerbaijan’s ongoing work in oil and gas, electricity generation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and current projects.

The discussions also covered Uganda’s potential in the oil and gas industry, mining, and hydropower.

The parties exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest, signalling a commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
