Azerbaijan, UK discuss expansion of economic, investment cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom have discussed ways to deepen economic cooperation, focusing on investment, innovation, and diversification of non-oil sectors, according to Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.
In a post on X, Jabbarov said he met with UK Minister of State for Investment at the Department for Business and Trade, Lord Stockwood, to review the main directions for developing bilateral economic relations, Caliber.Az reports.
“During the meeting with Lord Stockwood, UK Minister of State for Investment at the Department for Business and Trade, we discussed the key directions for the development of economic relations between our countries,” he wrote.

He said the discussions covered opportunities for cooperation in green energy, innovation, and digitalisation, as well as steps to boost mutual investment between the two countries.
“We reviewed prospects for joint activities in green energy, innovation, and digitalization, as well as potential steps to further promote mutual investment,” Jabbarov wrote.
The minister also highlighted priority areas including development of Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector, technology transfer, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, strengthening the private sector, and improving access to capital markets.
