Azerbaijan, UK explore wider energy ties, including interconnectors, decarbonisation projects PHOTO
Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom have discussed expanding cooperation in the energy sector, with a focus on oil and gas projects, decarbonisation initiatives and regional energy connectivity, according to the Azerbaijani government.
Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said the talks took place with the UK Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, David Reed, and centred on deepening existing collaboration with the energy company bp, Caliber.Az reports.

Shahbazov noted that both sides reviewed ongoing joint projects in hydrocarbons and decarbonisation, as well as potential new areas of cooperation linked to regional interconnectors aimed at strengthening energy integration across neighbouring markets.
The discussions also covered preparations for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission between Baku and London, which serves as a key platform for bilateral economic and energy coordination.
