Azerbaijan, UK review energy cooperation as ambassador completes mission

Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov has received British Ambassador Fergus Auld on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the meeting, the Azerbaijani minister expressed gratitude to Ambassador Auld for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, particularly in advancing cooperation in the energy sector, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.

The discussions focused on the implementation of jointly developed oil and gas projects, as well as expanding cooperation in renewable and green energy initiatives. The sides also highlighted collaboration with UK companies in the development of green energy corridor projects.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with the long-term and stable energy partnership between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom.

The meeting further included an exchange of views on issues related to the upcoming session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which is scheduled to take place in Baku.

During the conversation, the Azerbaijani side invited the United Kingdom to participate with a broad delegation in the events to be held as part of Baku Energy Week.
