Azerbaijan, UK focus on over 20 sectors in upcoming economic summit

The Azerbaijani Energy Ministry has announced that the 7th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom will focus on strengthening collaboration across more than 20 sectors. 

Among those sectors are including energy transition, economic modernisation, diversification, infrastructure development, and business environment improvement, the ministry told Caliber.Az. 

The meeting will be held in London on April 30. Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov will lead the Azerbaijani delegation at the meeting.

A protocol outlining the results of the meeting is expected to be signed by the participants. The commission will be co-chaired by Parviz Shahbazov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, and Gareth Thomas, the UK’s Minister for Business and Trade, who also oversees services, small business, and export affairs.
