Azerbaijan–UK trade plunges over fivefold in early 2026
Trade between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom fell sharply in the first quarter of 2026, with both exports and imports recording significant declines, according to official data.
The total trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $60.122 million in January–March 2026, a 5.4-fold decrease compared to the same period in 2025, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Customs Committee.
Official statistics show that Azerbaijani exports to the United Kingdom dropped 67.8 times year-on-year, totaling just $1.099 million. The share of exports in the bilateral trade structure fell to 0.02%, compared with 1.17% in January–March 2025.
At the same time, imports from the United Kingdom also declined significantly, decreasing 4.2 times to $59.022 million. The share of imports in total trade stood at 1.47%, down from 4.39% in the same period last year.
