Azerbaijan and Ukraine have discussed expanding cooperation in the energy sector during a meeting between Energy Minister Perviz Shahbazov and Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, according to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy.

The talks highlighted what both sides described as long-standing friendly relations and ongoing collaboration through a joint intergovernmental commission that is broadening economic and sectoral ties, Caliber.Az reports.

The Ukrainian side also expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance, saying it remains of significant importance to Kyiv amid ongoing regional challenges.

Discussions focused on energy security, potential areas for deeper cooperation in the energy field, and the establishment of working groups to explore future joint projects.

Both sides reaffirmed their interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation across strategic sectors, particularly in the context of evolving regional energy dynamics.
